Who are We?
We are a Foundation that creates joy for Australia’s sick children and their families by utilising helicopter owners and sponsors to raise funds through an annual event. We call this event the Chopper Challenge.
So how will the Chopper Challenge raise these funds? And where do the funds go?
Pilots and their crew are encouraged to raise these funds through corporate sponsorships, individual donations or fundraising drives. All proceeds will then go to the Assured Foundation, (please click onto the link for details)
Throughout the year, nationwide charities such as Ronald Macdonald House and Childhood Cancer will nominate a family from different locations anywhere in Australia battling with a child's illness. The Assured Foundation, with the help of Chopper Challenge funds will then plan and orchestrate an event that will spoil the whole family. This event could be a weekend pamper package, a chopper flight to a picnic destination, or a day of water activities including water-skiing and wake-boarding.
Whatever the treat is, it will be captured on film by a professional videographer, and the footage used to create a mini-movie. This mini-movie will be given to the family as a Gift of Love from the Assured Foundation. Funds raised will pay for things like accommodation, limousines, food, entertainment and video production which are all vital for creating a memorable experience for these sick children and their families.
Gary Williams - His Vision
Gary Williams, CEO of the Assured Group of Companies based in South Australia, has aviation experience that spans 35 years. Gary is passionate about the Assured Foundation and is passionate about choppers.
It is Gary's vision to bring these two things together to create memorable experiences for Australia’s sick kids and their families.
The Chopper Challenge is Gary's way of encouraging chopper pilots around the nation to donate their time, their chopper and their experience to do something extraordinary for these sick children.
